Sonny is a Class A member of the PGA of America. After graduating from Methodist University, a very prominent PGA accredited school in North Carolina, Sonny worked seasonally in the summer months both in Connecticut and New York and in the winter months at Lost Tree Club in North Palm Beach. Sonny was hired in 2013 as an Assistant/Tournament Director at The Country Club at Mirasol, where he was then promoted to the Head Golf Professional role in 2017. The South Florida PGA recognized Sonny as the 2016 SE Chapter Assistant Golf Professional of the Year. He has also continued his PGA education, achieving numerous teaching certifications, including FlightScope, BodiTrak, Trackman, K-Motion, and TPI Level 1 and Golf Level 2. He still regularly competes in many club pro events and is deeply passionate about playing and teaching the game.
Andrew Anderson is PGA Head Golf Professional at The Seagate Country Club. His responsibilities include assisting and supervising all golf services and operations, assisting in developing and managing the tournament program, coordinating expert instruction to club members and visiting players through clinics and private lessons on the newly refreshed Joe Lee-designed championship course and accompanying practice facilities.
Born and raised in Chicago, Anderson took up golf at the age of 15 and knew at once that the game would be his future. After playing on the Florida Atlantic Golf Team, he apprenticed at Stonebridge Golf & Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida. In 1992, Anderson was appointed PGA Head Golf Professional at Bluff Point Country Club in Plattsburgh, New York, and the following year became PGA Director of Golf at Wycliffe Golf & Country Club in Lake Worth, Florida. Wycliffe, which has 36 holes and more than 1,000 members, hosted two LPGA Tour events and several Celebrity Pro-Ams during Anderson’s time at the club.
Anderson joined Hamlet Golf & Country Club, now The Seagate Country Club, as PGA Head Golf Professional in 1998. He continues to hone his teaching skills by regularly attending national and local teaching summits.
PGA assistant professional, Whitney Young, leads our golf instruction for women and youth at The Seagate Country Club. A Pittsburgh native, Whitney honed her skills on courses in both her home state and West Virginia before heading to Florida.
In West Virginia, Whitney was part of the Wheeling Jesuit University Women’s Golf Team for four years. The team won two Conference championships, two Southern Regional, and a Northern Regional championship. She was also named All Conference 3 out of the 4 years. In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Whitney scored Player of the Year honors at West Penn Minority Junior Golf Association and was named P.J. Boatwright Medalist at the A, B, and C levels for three years.
As assistant at Pittsburgh North Golf Course, Range & School, Whitney helped owner Patricia Price, the first woman to qualify for PGA membership in the Tri-State Section, with the day-to-day operations of the facility. Whitney was also responsible for instruction of junior clients and the conducting of tournaments.
Even while actively pursuing her own passion for golf, Whitney took time to play a key role in inspiring a love for the sport among youth. Through First Tee of Pittsburgh, Whitney provided young people with character-building and life-skills lessons using golf as a platform. She continues to combine golf instruction with youth development in her current role as PGA Assistant at The Seagate Country Club, conducting private lessons and junior clinics in addition to providing women’s instruction.
